Why did Instagram consider removing the like button?

"Many influencers have voiced concerns about this move, and therefore, companies should keep a close eye on the impact this will have in 2021."

Instagram’s exponential growth rise has already seen it pass one billion users, solidifying it as one of the top social media channels.

That means it’s one of the most rapidly growing social media platforms and, perhaps more importantly for businesses to be aware of, much of its user base is the coveted younger demographic, especially under 30.

Facebook is losing much of that cohort, due to its recent reputation as the social media platform for “old people.”

One potential problem that marketers should keep in mind is that Instagram discussed removing the like feature from the platform. This is an example of quickly this platform can potentially change.

Many influencers have voiced concerns about this move, and therefore, companies should keep a close eye on the impact this will have in 2021.

While Instagram hope this change will lead to an uptick in content quality, many users may move away from the platform in search of vanity metrics elsewhere.

What is the big deal with SEO?

Quite simply, the majority of people now use the internet to find things they want to buy. They may want to buy them online or they may be searching to find out what stores are in their local area. If your site is not optimised, it is likely that the only time your website will show up in search results is when a person searches for your company name. However, that isn’t how people generally search for products or services.
